The role and types of X-ray collimator

The X-ray collimator is an electromechanical optical device installed in front of the output window of the X-ray tube. Its main function is to control the irradiation field of the X-ray tube to meet the requirements of X-ray photography. In order to improve the imaging quality, the collimator can reduce the projection range as much as possible, avoid unnecessary doses; and absorb some scattered light. In addition, it can also indicate the projection center and the size of the projection field. Therefore, the X-ray collimator is a necessary auxiliary equipment for X-ray photography.
There are two types of X-ray collimators: electric and manual. The manual collimator is mainly used for photography, and the electric collimator is used for X-ray inspection.
Our company Newheek mainly produces collimators and other X-ray equipment and accessories. If you have any questions, please contact us.
