X-ray collimator parameters

The X-ray collimator is an electromechanical optical device tube installed in the X-ray output window. Its main function is to control the irradiation field output by the X-ray tube under the premise of satisfying the X-ray imaging diagnosis, thereby reducing the projection range and avoiding unnecessary doses. It can also absorb some scattered light to improve the sharpness of the image. In addition, it can also indicate the projection center and the size of the projection field of view. Therefore, the X-ray collimator is an indispensable auxiliary equipment for X-ray irradiation and protection. The manual beamer produced by our company Newheek is mainly used for photography. By manually adjusting the knob or pull rod on the collimator, the opening and closing activities of the collimator covered by the lead sheet can be realized.
In addition to the above, its internal structure is also equipped with a lighting field indicator system. It uses an indicator bulb to simulate the focus of an X-ray tube, replaces X-rays with visible light, and is incident on the bed surface after being reflected by a reflector. The optical path of reflecting visible light is consistent with the optical path of X-ray passing through the mirror, and the size of the irradiation field can be indicated in advance.
Due to the short service life of the indicator light, the light of the indicator light is controlled by a button switch and can be automatically turned off within 15 s~1 minute. Some indicator lights have two brightness levels during their service life, which can meet the requirements of indoor high-brightness lighting on-site instructions. The reflector is usually made of silver-plated plastic, with an aluminum equivalent of about 0.5 mm, and will not affect X-ray imaging.
A clean and transparent plastic plate is also installed in front of the X-ray collimator, with black lines or dots engraved on it to indicate the center of the light field. On some beamers, the corresponding focal length of the illuminated area around the effective range of the knob or lever is marked. They are mainly used to preset the size of the illumination field before the illumination field indicator, so that the size of the illumination field can be quickly adjusted after the indicator is turned on, and the service life of the indicator can be extended.
