In conventional medical diagnostic X-ray systems, 150kV is the most widely used voltage level in clinical applications. The corresponding medical X-ray collimator, as the core safety component that controls the radiation field range, directly determines imaging clarity and the radiation protection level for both medical staff and patients. Unlike the fixed service life of ordinary industrial equipment, the service life of a 150kV medical X-ray collimator is a dynamic indicator affected by multiple factors. ‌Compliance Quality of the Product Itself‌

Formal products that meet the YY/T 0129-2007 standard adopt high-wear-resistant metal transmission gears, high-precision lead leaf positioning structures, and aging-resistant optical path components. Many operation and maintenance personnel tend to ignore the daily maintenance of the collimator: long-term accumulated dust will block the indication optical path, resulting in a decrease in the brightness of the light field; if the aged indicator bulb is not replaced in time after long-term use, problems such as blurred edges of the light field and inaccurate positioning will occur; if the transmission gears are not lubricated for a long time, it will lead to stuck radiation field adjustment and accuracy deviation. If these small problems are not dealt with for a long time, they will gradually evolve into irreversible performance faults, greatly shortening the service life of the equipment.

‌Physical Protection and Environmental Conditions‌

The 150kV collimator is usually directly installed at the outlet end of the X-ray tube assembly. If it is bumped or dropped during equipment movement and maintenance, the internal precision structure is easily misaligned, which at best causes the deviation between the light field and the radiation field to exceed the standard, and at worst directly makes the equipment scrapped in advance. At the same time, long-term exposure to harsh environments with high humidity and high dust will also accelerate the corrosion and aging of internal components, further reducing the effective service life of the equipment.
