Collimator failure of digital X-ray imaging system

The collimator is an essential component of the digital X-ray system, and it is inevitable to encounter some failures during use.
Let me share with you the previous repair cases.
When the DR is turned on, the system is normal and cannot be exposed.
The fault analysis should be a problem with the collimator. There is an abnormal clicking sound inside the collimator, and it feels like a component inside the collimator is stuck. In order to see the internal problems of the collimator, we disassembled the outer shell of the collimator. I saw that the filter plate inside the collimator was malfunctioning and could not rise and fall normally. After careful inspection, it was found that the copper sheet on the corners of the first filter plate was slightly curled and hooked the second filter plate during the ascent.
Troubleshooting: We use needle-nose pliers to gently straighten the bent and deformed corners of the filter plate to restore it to its original shape, close the collimator cover, and the machine exposes normally.
Discussion: As the filter plate inside the collimator rises and falls in sequence, the chamfer of the first copper sheet drives the second copper sheet when it is raised and lowered, and so on. If the driving force is slightly deviated, the chamfering of the copper sheet will cause deformation . If the operator finds a slight abnormal noise of the motor in daily use, he can check and adjust the working environment of the equipment to prevent further development of the copper sheet deformation and cause the collimator to work abnormally.
