Collimated beam range of use

Collimated beam is installed in the ball in medical X-ray machine X ray tube out of the nozzle (Pipe casing window ), used to shade the X-ray scattering line, reduce X-ray damage to patients, improve the quality of imaging, limit the X-ray irradiation field of vision in the range of the device. Also known as X-ray collimator, it’s an essential part of the X-ray diagnostic machine.

Collimated beam is commonly used for the following situations:
(1) it is used in X-ray therapy machine to shield the X-ray and protect normal cells from the radiation when treating pathological cells.
(2) protect non-inspection areas during fluoroscopy and photography. In both cases, the size, shape and mass of the X-ray exposure field is regulated by the collimated beam control.
Since x-rays are not visible light, the extent of the patient’s exposure cannot be determined visually. So use visible light instead of x-rays to determine the radiation field.
