What does the SID on the collimator mean?

The x ray collimator is also called the beam limiter and beam light device. It is an important accessory of the X-ray machine. It is installed under the tube to limit the radiation range of X-rays. When the switch of the light beam device is turned on, a beam of light will be emitted, and the place where the light irradiates is the irradiation range of X-rays, which is where we need to take a film for detection, so the light beam device also has the function of positioning and reduces stray scattering The emission of the line reduces the X-ray radiation received by the operating doctor and the patient.

SID refers to the focal length of the light beam device, that is, the vertical distance from the X-ray focal point to the projection area. If it is a shooting position, the SID is generally 100CM, and if it is a shooting position, the SID is generally 180CM.
